NPFL24 Week 10 Round Up: Lobi Stars Sit Top, Abia Warriors, Sunshine Stars Secure Home Wins

With the season gradually moving on a fast pace, Lobi Stars still sit top of the log, after a late 2-1 win over Shooting Stars in a Matchday 10 encounter, BSNSports.com.ng reports. 

With other sides like Sunshine Stars, Niger Tornadoes, Kwara United and Abia Warriors all securing home victories while Bendel Insurance and Bayslea United picked vital point on the road. 

Let's start the round up of the Matchday 10 games from the table-toppers, Lobi Stars who maintained on their impressive home record with a hard fought 2-1 win against Shooting Stars, at the Lafia City Stadium. 

Waheed Adebayo stuck home a delightful volley to give Lobi Stars a 1-0 lead before Monday GIdeon levelled it 1-1 for the visitors. 

While former Rangers International centre-back, Orji Kalu converted from the spot kick in the 84th minute to secure maximum points for the Pride of Benue. 

In llorin, Kwara United bounced back to winning ways with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Gombe United.

The centre-back strike was enough as the Umuahia-based club secured their second Oriental Derby win of the season at home. 

In Katsina, Bayelsa United produced a vital performance after they held Katsina United to a 1-1 draw at the Mohammed Dikko Stadium. 

Tekena Garando gave the visitors the lead, in the 39th minute with a brilliant finish inside the box. 

Before Bello Lukman levelled it 1-1 for the host in the 61st minute as both sides shared the points. 

In Akure, Sunshine Stars picked up a vital three points after they beat Sporting Lagos 1-0 in a Southwest Derby at the Ondo Sports Complex Stadium. 

The match winning goal was scored by Moses Omodumueke in the 26th minute after Sporting Lagos defenders failed to cleared out the ball from their own box. 

It was a vital three points for the Edith Agoye-led side. 

In Kaduna, Niger Tornadoes returned to winning ways with a narrow 1-0 win over Akwa United. 

It was looking like a game that would end in a draw after the first half ended goalless. 

But the host made the breakthrough in the second half, when Bashir Usman produced a brilliant finish to score the match winner, in the 65th minute which helped Tornadoes secured a massive three points. 

In Kano, Bendel Insurance secured a massive away point after the held Kano Pillars to a goalless draw at the Sani Abacha Stadium.
