NPL Ticket: FCT FA Chairman Dangles 500k Per Victory Carrot On EFCC

The Chairman, FCT Football Association, Alhaji Adam Mouktar Mohammed has dangled 500,000 for a win on EFCC FC; as he charged the Abuja-based football club to work hard and pick a ticket to the Nigeria Premier League at the ongoing NNL Super 8 Play-offs, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Mouktar made the charge when he visited the team in Asaba, Delta State where they are currently playing in the promotion play-off.

Accompanied by some of his board members as well as the FCT Director of Sports, Mr. Luka Istifanus, the chairman promised to reward the team with ₦500, 000 per every match they win. He also gifted the team the same amount following their 2-1 win against Katsina United on Monday

"We are proud of your performance so far but I must encourage you to do more. The good people of FCT are anxiously waiting for the return of premier league matches in our home soil and you have all our support to make us happy.

"I came here today with my board members and the Director of Sports to show you that we are solidly behind you. We will do our best to continue to support you to achieve this collective dream.

"As part of the FA's support, you will get a cash reward of ₦500, 000 in every match you win here," he said while addressing the players and coaching crew on Monday.

Also, a board member of the FA and Chairman, Like Mind FC of Abuja, Mr Babatunde Bocknor Akintade gifted the players ₦100, 000 for their efforts and charged them not to relent.

Istifanus also charged the players to do everything they can to ensure that they picked one of the NPL slots in the Play-off adding that the return of Premier League matches in FCT is long overdue.

Istifanus lauded the FCT FA board led by Alhaji Mouktar for their pragmatic, proactive, initiatives in football development in the FCT

EFCC FC is currently 3rd in the Northern Conference Group with 3 points from two matches. They lost their opening game by a lone goal against Kano Pillars before beating Katsina United 2-1 in their second match to rekindle their promotion hope.

The Abuja-based side will take on DMD FC from Gombe State in their last match on Wednesday.

The 2023 NNL Super 8 Play-off is held at the Stephen Keshi Stadium Asaba. The championship which commenced on July 2 will end on July 7, 2023
