NSF: States Compete For Medals In Mixed Martial Arts In Asaba

For the first time at the National Sports Festival, states are competing for medals in the Mixed Martial Arts in Asaba 2022, BSNSports.com.ng has gathered.
With the successes of Kamaru Usman and Israel Adesanya on the global stage, Nigeria could be unearthing another set of talents who would become dominant at the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
According to Making Of Champions, "Nigeria has a strong potential in the Mixed Martial Arts, and there are no doubt scouts will be looking out for the next stars to come out from the country. Fighters with huge prospects and could go all the way up into the Octagon to become global stars."
In what was a South-South battle, Precious Edwin (Blue corner) from Rivers State, defeated Elliot Awaji (Red corner) by a split decision to progress to the second round of the men's -55kg MMA event.
