NSF 2022: Team Oyo Lawal Beat Adijat To Claim Two Gold In 59kg Women's Weightlifting

It was all joy for Rafiatu Lawal of Team Oyo State after she beat Olarinoye Adijat of Team Lagos to two gold medals in weightlifting 59kg women Snatch and Clean & Jerk at the ongoing 2022 National Sports Festival, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

In a fierce battle between the 2022 Commonwealth Games champions.

As both renewed their rivalry months after they both claimed a gold medal for Team Nigeria in Birmingham, Lawal claimed the top prize in Asaba by a kilo better after she lifted 97kilos to beat Adijat who settled for silver with 96kilos in the Snatch.

While Peace Annokwuru of Team Rivers got the bronze with an 85kg lift. 

In the Clean & Jerk Lawal took gold by a kilogram after she recorded 122kg, with a combined total of 219kg while Adijat who got silver recorded 121kg, with a combined total of 217kg.

Annokwuru go bronze with 101kg, with a combined total of 186kg.
