NUGA Football: UNILAG Pip UI As Old Rivalry Reignites; OAU, UNILORIN, NSUK Book Semifinal Spots

UNILAG Sports Complex yesterday witnessed a rivalry to real to believe as old foes battled each other for the semi-final spot at the ongoing Nigeria University Games (NUGA) hosted by UNILAG Lagos, BSNSports.com.ng can report.


The first quarterfinal game played between the two Southwest neighbours, UNILAG and UI produced a lot of fireworks with the most interesting one coming from off the pitch.


UI fans stormed the Sports Complex before the kickoff with a casket with the inscription RIP UNILAG. The home fans were left in shock as but they also responded in a a fashionable way to what their opponent's fans threw at them and at the end of the day, UNILAG pip UI by a lone goal.


In other quarterfinal games played, UNILORIN pipped ATBU by a lone goal. UNICAL suffered a heavy 3-0 loss to NSUK and it was an embarrassing one for KSU as they lost 4-1 to OAU.


The semi-final games will be played today as UNILORIN go head to head with NSUK by 2pm while host UNILAG battle it out with favourite OAU later by 4pm.
