NWFL: Bayelsa Queens, Rivers Angels Secure Home Wins; Remo Stars Ladies, Abia Angels Shine Away

Matchday action in the 2025/2026 Nigeria Women Football League resumed on Wednesday with impressive performances across centres as Bayelsa Queens and Rivers Angels claimed maximum points at home, while Remo Stars Ladies and Abia Angels recorded emphatic away victories, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

In Lagos, Remo Stars Ladies delivered a commanding 3-0 victory over Dannaz Lagos. 

Aishat Animashaun opened the scoring in the 14th minute before doubling her tally in the 75th minute to put the visitors firmly in control. Daniella Fagbenro sealed the comprehensive win with a late strike in the 86th minute.

At the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa, Bayelsa Queens secured a comfortable 2-0 win against Ekiti Queens.

 Bankole Sofiat broke the deadlock in the 24th minute, while Delight Isaac added the second goal ten minutes into the second half to ensure all three points for the Prosperity Girls.

Osun Babes and Delta Queens shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw at Ile-Ogbo. 

Favour Damaris handed Delta Queens the lead in the 19th minute, but Tabitha Terlumun restored parity for the hosts just before halftime.

In Iyamho, Confluence Queens and Sunshine Queens settled for a goalless draw in a tightly contested encounter.

Adamawa Queens edged Heartland Queens 2-1 in Makwada. 

Omon Afensimi was the hero for the hosts with a brace in the 18th and 55th minutes, while an own goal by Immaculate Paul had earlier brought Heartland back into the game.

Naija Ratels claimed a narrow 1-0 victory over Pacesetter Queens in Abuja courtesy of Omeje Chukwube’s decisive strike early in the second half.

One of the standout performances of the day came in Aba, where Abia Angels thrashed Ahudiyannem Queens 5-2 in a seven-goal thriller. Winner David stole the headlines with a first-half hat-trick, scoring in the 12th, 28th, and 43rd minutes. 

Blessing Saleh and Obianuju Akwubo added further goals in the second half to complete a dominant display, despite late efforts from Chiwendu Orji and Tobi Oghenerugba for the hosts.

In Lafia, Nasarawa Amazons secured a 4-2 victory over FC Robo Queens in an entertaining contest. 

Sunday Ohunene opened the scoring as early as the second minute, while Ayatsea Hembafan, Jumoke Alani, and Bibiana Odoh extended the lead. Joy Iortyom and Rafiu Tosin were on target for the visitors.

Meanwhile, Rivers Angels edged Edo Queens 2-1 in Port Harcourt.

 Abasiofon Uwah bagged a brace in the 14th and 45th minutes to hand the hosts victory, cancelling out Atume Doosuur’s equaliser for Edo Queens.

The latest round of fixtures has further intensified the battle for supremacy as teams continue to jostle for early dominance in the NWFL campaign.
