After a dominant 5-0 win over Confluence Queens, Nasarawa Amazons midfielder Marilyn Essien has made it clear that her focus is firmly on lifting the NWFL title this season, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The emphatic victory against their Kogi-based rivals keeps the Amazons on course for a playoff spot and boosts their confidence as the season progresses.

“Our goal is to bring the trophy home,” Essien said.

 “We want to keep fighting hard and secure our qualification for the NWFL Super 6 as early as possible so we can focus on what comes next.”

Reflecting on the win, Essien admitted the team was surprised by the margin of victory.

 “We didn’t expect that kind of result against Confluence Queens. Derbies are always tough,” she noted.

“We prepared well, but scoring five without conceding felt surreal — it was just out of this world.”
