Rivers Angels have finalized plans to submit a petition to the Nigeria Women's Football League (NWFL) board following allegations made by Adamawa Queens coach, Dadeino Heman, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Heman accused the seven-time NWFL champions of influencing referees to secure victories, despite admitting that Rivers Angels had superior players.

Speaking to PUNCH, Rivers Angels' media officer, Faith Meremegbunam, confirmed the club’s decision to take formal action.

“The club is handling the matter, and we will be filing an official complaint with the league body,” she stated.

“That was a serious allegation against Rivers Angels, and we won’t take it lightly. How can a coach who admitted that our team has more experienced and quality players still make such claims against a club that has won the league seven times?”

“We didn’t receive any penalties in our match against Adamawa Queens. All our goals were legitimate, and the match highlights were available for everyone to see. We won’t allow anyone to tarnish the reputation of Rivers Angels,” she added.
