NWFL 25: Naira Rain As Government Rewards Victorious Rivers Angels

The Commissioner for Sports in Rivers State, Barr. Chris Green has rewarded victorious Rivers Angels after defeating FC Robo Queens, BSNSports.com.ng reports. 

Green, who congratulated the team on the hard-fought 4-2 victory over FC Robo Queens, presented the team with a gift of one million naira as a token of appreciation and motivation.

The Jewels of Rivers began the NWFL Match day three encounter on a blistering note when Captain Polinus Ifeoma gave them the lead via a free kick in the 9th minute before the visitors restored parity four minutes later courtesy of Kemi Adegbuyi.

Both sides went into the halftime break one apiece. However, five minutes into the second half, Aminat Folorunsho restored the lead for the Jewels of Rivers. 

The duo of Ifeoma Ikenokwalu and Peace Effiong increased the tally for the hosts before Chidinma Ogbuchi bagged the consolation with 8 minutes left on regulation time. 

With the decisive victory, Rivers Angels under Tosan Blankson go top of the table in Group B with seven points after three matches.
