NWFL 25: Rivers Angels Demand Action Over Unfounded Allegations
Precious Oham
The management of Rivers Angels FC has taken note of the post-match interview of Coach Dadeino Herman, Technical Adviser of Adamawa Queens, in which she made spurious allegations against the club, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
This was contained in a statement signed by Faith Oluchi Meremegbunam, Rivers Angels Media Director.
The statement reads: "Coach Herman's claims that Rivers Angels "used the referees" to gain an advantage in the match are baseless and unacceptable. We find it ironic that she acknowledged our team's quality players yet chose to shift the focus to unfounded allegations.
"Furthermore, her accusations against the match commissioner and the centre referee are serious and deserve attention from the league body.
"However, we insist that such allegations should not be used as a smokescreen to deflect attention from the actual outcome of the match.
"As a reputable club, Rivers Angels will not stand and watch while our image is tarnished by unfounded claims.
"We implore the league body to investigate this matter thoroughly and take appropriate action.
"We remain committed to the values of fair play and sportsmanship, and we will continue to uphold the highest standards of integrity in our pursuit of excellence."
