NWFL Confirms 2026 Championship Groups Ahead of Promotion Tournament

The Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) has officially unveiled the groupings for the 2026 NWFL Championship, setting the stage for an exciting battle for promotion to the NWFL Premiership, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

A total of 16 clubs will compete in the championship tournament in Calabar, with only two promotion places available for the 2026/27 NWFL Premiership season.

The teams have been drawn into four groups of four:

Group A

- Delta Babes

- DreamStar Ladies FC

- Rosaria Victrix FC

- First Mahi Babes

Group B

- Pelican Stars

- Gallant Queens

- Ikukuoma Queens

- Moje Queens

Group C

- Rangers Women FC

- Fortress Ladies FC

- Wazbak Int'l Sports Academy

- Unification FC

Group D

- Imo Striker Queens

- Kwara Ladies

- Chosen Generation Angels FC

- Ghetto Tigers

With promotion to the top flight at stake, the championship promises keen competition as clubs battle for one of the two coveted spots in the NWFL Premiership.

All eyes will now be on Calabar as the quest for promotion gets underway.
