The Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) has announced the commencement of registration for the 2026 Nationwide season, inviting clubs across the country to participate in its third-tier competition.
In a statement issued on April 11, 2026, and signed by the league’s spokesperson, Samuel Ahmadu, the NWFL confirmed that registration payments will open on April 13 and close on June 30, 2026.
The league set the registration fee for the upcoming season at ₦550,000. Clubs that featured in the 2025 edition may also be required to settle additional caution or expulsion fees, where applicable, with details to be communicated individually.
NWFL Chief Operating Officer, Modupe Shabi, said the Nationwide division remains accessible to clubs across Nigeria, describing it as a key platform for emerging teams to compete within an organized national structure.
She explained that the registration process will be conducted in phases. While payment runs from April 13 to June 30, the official registration portal will open on May 30 and close on July 10, ahead of the season’s scheduled kickoff in August.
Shabi added that the entire process will be carried out online to enhance efficiency, transparency, and accessibility for participating teams.
Clubs have also been provided with relevant documents, including licensing requirements and player registration guidelines, to facilitate a smooth registration process.
Details regarding venues, fixtures, and the full schedule for the 2026 season are expected to be announced at a later date.
