NWFL Golden Boot Race Set for Dramatic Finale
By Niyi Busari
The race for the 2025/26 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership Golden Boot is set for a thrilling conclusion as the Super Six competition heads into its final matchday, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
At the top of the scoring charts, Edo Queens striker Atume Doosuur and Rivers Angels forward Abasiofon Uwah are tied on 13 goals each, setting up a fascinating battle for the league's highest individual scoring honour.
Uwah drew level with Doosuur after finding the back of the net in Rivers Angels’ Matchday 4 encounter against Edo Queens, ensuring the contest remains finely balanced heading into the season's decisive fixtures.
Edo Queens' Chioma Moses remains firmly in contention with 11 goals after continuing her impressive scoring form on Matchday 4. Robo Queens forward Oluwakemi Adegbuyi is also still in the race on 11 goals, despite not adding to her tally in the previous round.
With only two goals separating the top four contenders, the Golden Boot remains up for grabs. Edo Queens are particularly well represented, with both Doosuur and Moses among the leading scorers as the club pursues both team success and individual accolades.
As the curtain falls on the 2025/26 NWFL Premiership season, all eyes will be on the final round of matches, where one standout performance could determine the league's leading scorer.
One matchday remains. Four contenders are still in the hunt. Only one player will emerge as the 2025/26 NWFL Premiership Golden Boot winner.
