NWFL Matchday 11: Title Race Intensifies As Rivers Angels Go Top
By Niyi Busari
The race for Super Six qualification in the NWFL Premiership intensified following the conclusion of Matchday 11, with pivotal results recorded across both groups and the standings beginning to tighten, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
In Group A, Rivers Angels took full advantage of Bayelsa Queens’ absence due to a bye fixture, delivering an impressive 2–0 away victory over Naija Ratels to climb to the top of the table. Edo Queens maintained pressure on the leaders with a hard-fought win against Heartland Queens, ensuring the contest for the top three positions remains highly competitive heading into the next round of fixtures.
Group B saw stability at the summit, with no movement among the top three sides. FC Robo Queens retained their lead despite being held to a draw by Confluence Queens on the road. Nasarawa Amazons solidified their hold on second place with a late victory over Dannaz Ladies, while Remo Stars Ladies remain third after playing out a stalemate with Abia Angels.
As the season progresses, the margins continue to narrow and momentum shifts from week to week, leaving the race for playoff qualification wide open.
