NWFL Matchday 12: Bayelsa Queens Run Riot as Delta Queens Edge Thriller

Matchday 12 of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership produced an exciting round of fixtures across the country, with emphatic victories, closely contested encounters, and standout individual performances shaping the latest action, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
In Ikenne, Remo Stars Ladies were held to a 1–1 draw by Confluence Queens. Aishat Animashaun opened the scoring in the 35th minute to give the hosts the lead, but Marvelous John restored parity shortly after the restart, netting in the 50th minute to ensure both sides shared the spoils.
Delta Queens edged out FC Robo Queens in a five-goal thriller in Asaba, securing a 3–2 victory. After falling behind early to Kemi Adegbuyi’s 11th-minute strike, Delta Queens responded through Princess Adams and Norah Davies, who both scored to keep the game level. Anatasia Terfa’s 71st-minute goal ultimately proved decisive in a tightly contested encounter.
Abia Angels claimed a narrow 1–0 away win over Osun Babes in Ile-Ogbo, courtesy of Blessing Okon’s 54th-minute strike, which separated both sides in a cagey affair.
Bayelsa Queens delivered the most dominant performance of the round, thrashing Naija Ratels 5–0 in Yenagoa. An own goal by Andy Faith set the tone before goals from Delight Isaac, Vera Samuel, and a brace from Kesiena Ojiyovwi completed a commanding victory.
In Lafia, Nasarawa Amazons and Ahudiyannem Queens battled to a goalless draw, with both sides unable to break the deadlock despite several opportunities.
Ibom Angels came from behind to defeat Adamawa Queens 3–1 in Uyo. After Omon Afensimi gave the visitors an early lead, Mariam Okocha turned the game around with a brace, before Eunice Ezeani sealed the win late in the second half.
Rivers Angels made a strong statement at home in Port Harcourt, defeating Pacesetter Queens 2–0 thanks to an early brace from Grace Saliu, who struck in the 4th and 15th minutes.
In Benin City, Edo Queens secured a comfortable 2–0 victory over Ekiti Queens. Goals from Rebecca Adegbemile and Atume Doosuur in the first half ensured maximum points for the hosts.
