NWFL Reviews: Away Teams Dominate Match Day 3

Away teams stole the spotlight in Match Day 3 of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) as visitors recorded impressive results across various centres on Wednesday, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

At the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Edo Queens edged Ekiti Queens 1–0 thanks to a 65th-minute strike from Atune Doosur, handing the hosts their first home setback of the campaign.

In Umuahia, Nasarawa Amazons continued their fine start to the season with a convincing 2–0 away victory over Ahudiyannem Queens. Ohunene Sunday opened the scoring shortly after the break in the 47th minute, while Peaceful Ikediuba sealed the win with a well-taken goal late in the game.

Remo Stars Ladies also made a strong statement on the road, defeating Confluence Queens 2–0. Early pressure paid off as Anifowoshe Khadijat found the net in the 12th minute, before Similoluwa Okesiji wrapped up the victory with a stoppage-time goal.

The only home side to celebrate maximum points was Abia Angels, who recorded a comfortable 2–0 victory over Osun Babes. Winner David gave the hosts the lead in the 16th minute, while Blessing Okon doubled the advantage before the half-hour mark.

In Yola, Adamawa Queens secured a narrow 1–0 win against Ibom Angels, with Ifeoma Damian netting the decisive goal in the 16th minute.

At the Pacesetters Stadium, Rivers Angels came from behind to defeat Pacesetters Queens 2–1 in a thrilling encounter. Grace Saliu gave the visitors an early lead in the 2nd minute, before Teslimot Balogun restored parity for the hosts in the 28th minute. However, Ramotalahi Kareem scored the winner in the 40th minute to ensure Rivers Angels left with all three points.

The results underlined the dominance of away sides on Match Day 3, with visiting teams winning five of the six matches played.
