NWFL Round-Up: Heartland Queens Suffer Home Defeat As Abia Angels Thrash Nasarawa Amazons

Heartland Queens FC lost their second consecutive game in match day 2 of the 2024/2025 Nigeria Women Football League, NWFL, encounter, BSNSports.com.ng reports. 

Defending champions, Edo Queens got the better of the Owerri Landladies 1-2 at the Dan Anyiam Stadium Owerri via a brace from Osigwe Goodness while Mathew Monica got the consolation for the hosts from the spot. 

In Umuahia, Abia Angels thrashed Nasarawa Amazons 3-0 in a thrilling fashion. The goalscorers include; Merrit Of for, Dorothy Eshiet and Chiamaka Ojilafor. 

Elsewhere, Dannaz Ladies defeated Confluence Queens 2-0 while Delta Queens got the better of Benue Queens 2-0 at the Stephen Keshi Stadium Asaba. 

In the South West derby, Remo Stars Ladies defeated Ekiti Queens 1-0 in a keenly contested tie while the South South derby between Ibom Angels and Bayelsa Queens ended goalless. 

In Abuja, Rivers Angels played out a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Naija Ratels, bringing an end to their four-match winning streak against Naija Ratels.
