NWFL Roundup: Ekiti Queens, Remo Stars Ladies Pick First Victory, As South-South Derby Ends in Draw

Debutants in the Nigeria Women Football League, NWFL, Ekiti Queens has recorded their first victory in top-flight Women football by defeating Sunshine Queens, BSNSports.com.ng reports.Â
The debutants secured their first ever top-flight win at the expense of neighbours in the South West derby at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ado-Ekiti courtesy of a 63rd winner by Miracle Ohaeri.Â
In the South-South derby decided at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa, Rivers Angels held Bayelsa Queens to a 1-1 draw.Â
Motunrayo Ezekiel, who got the opener for the visitors in the 3rd minute was shown the marching order inside three additional minutes while Rose Ekong scored for Bayelsa Queens.Â
In Ikenne, Remo Stars Ladies defeated Edo Queens by 2-0 to secure their first win of the season while Adamawa Queens got the better of Nasarawa Amazons by 2-1.Â
Confluence Queens extended their unbeaten start with a comfortable two-nil victory over Abia Angels with goals coming off the boots of Feranmi Feheezah in the 16th minute and Mary Mamudu in the 27th minute.Â
The Lokoja-based side becomes the only Group side yet to lose a match this season after five games.
Folashade Ijamilusi stuned the defending champions, Delta Queens to level matters for Robo Queens at the death to condemn the holders to their second draw at home this season after it ended 1-1.Â
Dannaz Ladies came from a goal down to beat Royal Queens 2-1. Katherine Gabriel had opened scoring for the visitors in the 38th minute before Fatimoh Solaty equalised in the 88th minute. The winner came at the death courtesy of Mary Aduramomi.
Naija Ratels and Heartland Queens shared the spoils in a barren draw in Abuja.
