NWFL Super 6: Rivers Angels Not Intimidated By Bayelsa Queens' Home Advantage - Ogbonda
Precious Oham
Head Coach of Rivers Angels, Whyte Ogbonda has said his side won't be intimidated by the home advantage of Bayelsa Queens in the NWFL Super Six, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Jewels of Rivers will face off against their long-standing rivals, Bayelsa Queens, in Yenagoa on Saturday, marking the start of their Super Six campaign.
Having topped Group B with 27 points in the regular season, the Jewel of Rivers will once again clash with their South-South rivals in the opening match of the Super Six.
Ogbonda expressed confidence in his team's preparedness stating, "I'm not intimidated by Bayelsa Queens' home advantage. All teams in the playoff are capable, but we have a psychological edge over them, having beaten them in Port Harcourt and drawn in Yenagoa during the regular season."
Ogbonda believes Rivers Angels have a strong chance of winning on Saturday, citing Bayelsa Queens' fear of playing them.
"Bayelsa Queens are scared of facing Rivers Angels, and I'm certain we'll emerge victorious."
Ogbonda also acknowledged the significant support from the Rivers State government, which has boosted the team's morale.
"Before we left Port Harcourt, the Hon. Commissioner for Sports, Barr. Chris Green motivated the girls and outlined the rewards for winning the trophy and bringing it back to Port Harcourt."
The cracker between both sides will kick off by 2 pm at the Samson Siasia Stadium Yenagoa.
