NWFL Super Six: Possession Doesn't Win Matches In Football - Ogbonda

Whyte Ogbonda of Rivers Angels has expressed disappointment over the barren draw with Nasarawa Amazons in the ongoing NWFL Super Six in Yenagoa, BSNSports.com.ng reports. 

Reacting after the disappointing outcome, Rivers Angels coach, Whyte Ogbonda told journalists that gaining the ball possession without getting the goals doesn't win matches. 

"The game ended goalless, I think it was such a bad game bearing in mind that these are two champions of the NWFL in previous years. We as coaches expected the match to be very tough but the result we got today wasn’t the result we expected."

Whyte however expressed confidence in taking the remaining two games ahead of them, to get back into the discussion of winning the title.

“No team is a pushover, but we are confident that we will take the two remaining matches because I’m hoping that upsets would happen to other contenders of this championship.

“Possession doesn’t win the match, I’m here for business and the business is football, to get goals.”

Rivers Angels will in match day 4 take on Confluence Queens. The match is scheduled for noon, Friday, September 24, at the Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa.
