Head Coach of Rivers Angels, Whyte Ogbonda, has acknowledged the high expectations from fans and the Rivers State government, assuring that the team is motivated to deliver, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Rivers Angels returned to winning ways with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Edo Queens in their NWFL Super Six match on Monday.

The highly anticipated match lived up to expectations, with both teams battling fiercely. Florence Alexander scored with a free kick in the 11th minute, and Sefiat Idris nearly doubled the lead, but her effort was denied by the post.

Ogbonda praised his team's performance, stating, "We knew Edo Queens would give us a tough fight, but we had the right strategy to counter them.

"The spirit in the camp is high, thanks to the support from the Hon. Commissioner of Sports, Barr. Chris Green, and the State government. We'll take each match as it comes, but our target is to get three points in every game."

The Jewels of Rivers, who are joint-table toppers with Bayelsa Queens on four points have enjoyed huge motivation of N4 million from the Rivers State Sports Commissioner, Chris Green.
