NWFL Super Six Kicks Off in Port Harcourt as Six Teams Battle for League Title

The 2026 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Super Six tournament gets underway in Port Harcourt on Saturday, with six of the country's leading women's football clubs set to compete for the league title and a place in continental competition, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The championship, which will be staged at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, brings together defending champions Bayelsa Queens, former champions Rivers Angels and Edo Queens, as well as Nasarawa Amazons, FC Robo Queens and Abia Angels.
The six teams will compete in a round-robin format across five matchdays, with the club accumulating the highest number of points emerging as champions.
The opening day will feature three fixtures. Edo Queens will face Nasarawa Amazons in the tournament's first match at 9:00 a.m., before hosts Rivers Angels take on FC Robo Queens at 2:00 p.m. Defending champions Bayelsa Queens will round off the day's action against Abia Angels at 4:00 p.m.
The competition will follow a schedule that allows teams a rest day after each round of matches, with the tournament running until June 14.
