NYG: Stephen Keshi Stadium To Host Opening Ceremony As Organizers Unveil Competition Schedule

All is now set for the commencement of the 9th edition of the National Youth Games, NYG, in Asaba, Delta State, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Recall that the Delta State government had constituted an eight-man Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the NYG headed by Onoriode J. Oborevwori as chairman.
The list has Chief Solomon Ogba as Adviser, with Sam Sodje Okeremute, Oghale Ofremu and Henrietta Ehiabor as members.
Other members are Festus Ohwojero, Paul Omamomo Ojo, while Emuuobo Egalase is the secretary of the LOC.
After hosting two consecutive editions of the National Youth Games in 2023 and 2024, the city of Asaba is wearing a new look ahead of the 2025 Games, which will run from August 26 to September 6.
According to the organisers, the opening ceremony will be held on August 28, at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, while competitions will run till September 6 at multiple venues across Asaba.
The participating teams will compete in various sports, including; Badminton, Table Tennis, Para-Table Tennis, Athletics, Deaf Athletics, Para-Athletics, Karate, Taekwondo, Judo and Wrestling.
Others include: Chess, Ayo, Kickboxing, Kungfu, Para Powerlifting, Weightlifting, Basketball, Fives, Squash, Tennis, Scrabble, Gymnastics, Shooting, Swimming.
The list includes; Beach Volleyball, Boxing, Football, Cricket, Cycling, Darts, Golf, Handball, Hockey, Rugby 7, Abula, Kokowa and Volleyball.
