NYG 2023: Delta State Ogodo Wins First Gold

Ogodo Goodness of Delta State made history as she became the first athlete to claim gold after she won in the Weightlifting Snatch 45kg event on Saturday, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Goodness lifted 44kg to win the first gold for Delta State at the ongoing National Youth Games in Asaba. 

Over 4500 athletes from all 36 states of Nigeria, including the Federal Capital Territory Abuja, are currently competing for honours at the 10-day event.

Team Delta State is the defending champions of the event having won 60 gold, 27 silver, and 29 bronze medals at the 6th edition in Ilorin in 2021.
