Naija Women Football Awards Sets to Hold in Bayelsa

All is now ready for the official recognition of the best actors in the 2024 Nigeria Women Football League Premiership season in an elaborate award ceremony tagged the 2024 Naija Women Football Awards, NWFLAwards, BSNSports.com.ng reports. 

According to the organiser, the award ceremony will take place on Thursday 23rd May 2024 in Bayelsa State capital, Yenagoa, the venue of the ongoing 2024 NWFL Premiership Championship playoffs.

The highlight of the day will be crowning of the best player in the season as the 'Player of the Season' will be awarded. 

Other categories where awards will be given include the Coach of the Season, Club of the Year, Best Midfielder, Best Defender, Best Attacker and the Team of the Season.

Special recognition will be given to the Administrator of the Season as well as the Women's Football Special Awards to Honourable Commissioners for Youth and Sport of Bayelsa, Rivers, Nasarawa and Edo States. 

In his remarks, the CEO of NWFAwards, Abolore AbdulRahmon highlighted the importance of these awards to the growth of women's football in Nigeria. 

"We are committed to rewarding excellence across women's football sphere because that's the only way to encourage the league, the players and the teams as stakeholders" he noted.

The award ceremony will climax the monthly recognition of the best players and coaches in the league as the NWFAwards have been rewarding the ' Player of the Month and Coach of the Month since the beginning of 2018 NWFL Premiership season.
