Naira Rain In The Camp Of Rivers United, As Governor Wike Redeems Pledge

It was jubilation galore in the camp of the Nigeria Professional Football League champions Rivers United as the Rivers State government redeemed the pledge of a cash reward to the players, BSNSports.com.ng understand.
The state government under governor Nyesom Wike pledged $20, 000 to each player if they should reach the group stage of the champions league.
They failed to reach the champions league group stage after they lost out to Wydad Casablanca of Morocco in the final round of the qualifier.
They rallied back to redeem themselves as they qualified for the group confederation cup after edged Al Nasr of Libya.
The government on Friday afternoon dropped a whooping N15.6 million into the account of each player.
The state commissioner for sports Barr. Chris Green made an official announcement to the players at the government house.
