Nasarawa Amazons Maintain Perfect Start As Edo Queens Return To Contention

Edo Queens produced a commanding performance to secure their first victory of the 2026 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership Super Six Finals, defeating FC Robo Queens 4-1 on Matchday Two in Port Harcourt, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The former champions laid the foundation for victory in the opening half through a clinical brace from Chioma Moses, who found the back of the net in the 15th and 32nd minutes to hand Edo Queens a comfortable advantage.

Edo Queens maintained their dominance after the break, extending their lead through Precious Oscar in the 59th minute before Mary Mamudu added a fourth just four minutes later. FC Robo Queens pulled one back late in the contest when Florence Godwin Freda scored in the 86th minute, but it proved little more than a consolation.

The emphatic result marks a strong response from Edo Queens following their opening-day setback and significantly boosts their hopes of challenging for the Super Six title.

Elsewhere, Abia Angels recorded a historic first-ever Super Six victory with a hard-fought 1-0 win over hosts Rivers Angels. Winner David's 26th-minute strike proved decisive as the newcomers continued their impressive debut campaign.

Nasarawa Amazons maintained their perfect start to the tournament with a dramatic 2-1 comeback victory over Bayelsa Queens. Chiamaka Ezekwugo had given Bayelsa Queens the lead in the 51st minute, but Farikikyen Moses equalised ten minutes from time before Ayatsea Hembafan completed the turnaround deep into stoppage time with a 90+1-minute winner.
