National Sports Commission Leadership Meets President Tinubu in Aso Villa

 .Delivers Progress Report To The C-in-C, As Plans To Revamp Nigerian Sports Continues

The leadership of the National Sports Commission (NSC), chaired by Mallam Shehu Dikko and led by Director General Hon. Bukola Olopade, recently presented a progress report on the state of the sports sector to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, BSNSports.com.ng reports. 

This report was delivered during a meeting held at the Presidential Villa on Thursday. Chairman Mallam Shehu Dikko expressed gratitude to the President for the trust placed in him and the DG, promising to uphold the confidence bestowed by both the President and the Nigerian people in the NSC’s new leadership.

 "As the father of the nation, I want to thank you once again for choosing me and my brother, the DG, Bukola Olopade, for this significant assignment. I view it as a tremendous opportunity to help promote the Renewed Hope agenda through sports," Dikko stated.

 "I assure you that we are focused and determined not to disappoint you, sir, because we understand how passionate you are about the growth of this country across all sectors. We have already begun our work, and the feedback from stakeholders and the private sector has been very encouraging. We do not doubt that your Renewed Hope agenda will be realized in the sports sector," Dikko added.

Director General Hon. Bukola Olopade echoed the Chairman's sentiments, thanking the President for his support of sports and pledging to fulfil their responsibilities.

"As our father, I want to especially thank you for everything you are doing and for being a sports-loving leader for our country. We promise not to fail you or the nation," Olopade stated.

"You have shown that sports hold a special place in your heart, and we are committed to contributing to the legacies you aim to establish in Nigerian sports. Your determination to ensure a sustainable economic outlook for Nigerian sports inspires us, and we will strive to make this a reality," he concluded.

The meeting also included Chief Adegboye Adeyinka, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Grassroot Sports Development, who assured his commitment to promoting sports development from the grassroot level.

The meeting reinforced President Tinubu's commitment to revitalizing Nigeria's sports sector by encouraging growth, sustainability, and collaboration with the private sector.

The new leadership of the NSC pledged to maintain this momentum to ensure that the Nigerian sports sector becomes a vital contributor to the nation's economy.
