Wilfred Ndidi has expressed concern over refereeing decisions following Beşiktaş’s 1–0 defeat to city rivals Fenerbahçe in a Süper Lig encounter on Sunday, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The tightly contested fixture was decided by a late penalty at the Chobani Stadium, awarded after Emmanuel Agbadou was adjudged to have fouled Dorgeles Nené inside the box. However, television replays appeared to show the defender making a clean challenge, prompting debate over the decision.

Ndidi, reacting after the match, questioned why the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) was not consulted before the penalty was confirmed.

“How can you have VAR and decide not to check? I’m still trying to understand,” he wrote on social media.

The result represents a setback for Beşiktaş in their league campaign, while the controversial decision has continued to generate discussion among supporters and analysts.

Meanwhile, Ndidi will be unavailable for Nigeria’s upcoming fixture against the Democratic Republic of Congo due to suspension, ruling him out of the international assignment.
