Netizens Blast CAF Over Top Striker Poll On Oshoala, Kgatlana

As the countdown to the 2022 African Women Cup of Nations, Group C game between rivals, Banyana Banyana and Super Falcons draw nearer, fans have blasted CAF on a poll it conducted between Thembi Kgatlana and Asisat Oshoala, reports BSNSports.com.ng.


With the continent biggest women soccer fiesta kicking off on July 2nd in Rabat, Morocco, the African soccer governing on the official verified Twitter handle of championship posted a poll on Wednesday with a caption and emojis.


The Barcelona striker overwhelmingly won the poll with 92% from the 1,401 votes cast.


The response in the comment section was a heated one as many fans blasted CAF for conduction such a poll, knowing full well Oshoala was the reining Woman African Player of the Year.


A few of the comments from Netizens. Easystem, "What's tough, how can you compare African footballer of the year more than 2 times to Thembi. Though she's good but Asisat not her level pls."


Sanni Uthman, "Kgatlana wey still dey fight ajibade for starting shirt for Atletico Madrid."


"This season ajibade has more goals than her, so I don't get what's "tough"," says Ayo.


Uthman continued, "Foir times footballer of the year. The joint most. That poll is rubbish. We have to let them know. That’s huge disrespect. What is the admin smoking," he asked.


 "The person that tweeted this needs sense. Such disrespect. Someone who’s arguably already the GOAT in African football. If you don’t have content, you shut up. No be by force to tweet."
