Niger To Partner LFA For Grassroots Football Development.
Niger state government has indicated its readiness to partner Lapai Football Academy in grassroot football development in the state.
Commissioner of Youth and Sports development, Mallam Mamman Musa gave the assurance while receiving the Chairman and Chief executive officer of Lapai Football Academy and his team in his office during a courtesy visit
He Commended the proprietor of Lapai Football Academy, Mallam Umar Batako Lapai for his effort at tackling youth restiviness through sports.
He disclosed that, the State Government despite paucity of funds will do all within its power to assist all the football academies in the state by ensuring that the State team, Niger Tornadoes patronize products from the various academies in the State.
Mallam Mamman Musa also disclosed that, the State Government is determined to rehabilitate the abandoned Bako Kontagora Stadium for Tornadoes to play its 2022/ 2023 Premier league matches at home.
According to him, the State Government has set up machinery in motion towards ensuring that the Bahago sports complex started by the President administration is completed before its terminal date on 29th May, 2023.
Speaking earlier, Mallam Umar Batako Lapai has urge the State Government to see the various football academies in the state as partners in progress.
He lamented, the neglect of Sport Academy by state owned Clubsides in their recruitment drive stressing that, such trend discourage private sector investment in the football.
Mallam Lapai noted that, despite the hostile operating environment, he decided to shoulder on as part of his contribution to the development of the youth in particular and the State in general .
