The Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in Liberia, Ambassador Odudigbo Godfrey, organized a grandiose reception for players and officials of Rivers United FC who are in Liberia to battle Watanga FC in Sunday's CAF Champions League preliminary round second leg tie.
The Pride of Rivers contingent was treated to a grand dinner shortly after arriving the Liberian capital Monrovia on Friday and they were charged to ensure they consolidate on the job they started in the first leg after capping a fantastic performance at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium with a well-deserved 3-0 victory against the Liberian Champions Watanga FC.
As the Stanley Eguma tutored side prepare to take to the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex in Paynesville pitch this Sunday, Amb Odudigbo Godfrey has charged the team to go all out for win while promising to sustain the support for the team in ensuring that they qualify for the next round of the competition.
"We are happy to receive you and we encourage you to do us proud. Go all the way out to make sure that you beat the Liberians. This is my house and i say it as it is. You must beat the Liberians." Amb Godfrey stated.
Members of the official delegation, headed by the NFF representative Alhaji Babagana Kalli were full of praise for the efforts of the Ambassador and his staff, in ensuring a hitch free dinner reception for the delegation.
Technical Manager Stanley Eguma reassured Nigerians that Rivers United is battle ready and will do the Nation proud.
