Nigeria Climb FIVB World Rankings After CAVB Zone 3 Championship

Nigeria's men's and women's national volleyball teams have improved their positions in the latest FIVB World Rankings following their performances at the 2026 CAVB Zone 3 Championship held in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

According to the latest rankings released by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), the Nigerian men's team has moved up to 52nd in the world, while the women's team is now ranked 103rd globally.

The rankings reflect the teams' results at the regional championship, where Nigeria competed against other West African nations in the CAVB Zone 3 tournament.

The improved rankings provide a significant boost for Nigerian volleyball as both teams continue preparations for future continental and international competitions. 

The FIVB World Rankings are a key factor in determining seedings and qualification pathways for major tournaments, making the latest progress a positive development for the country's volleyball programme.
