Nigeria Ends 2022 African Men Handball Championship In Defeat

By Our Reporter

Nigeria ended their 2022 Africa Men Senior Handball Championship campaign in Egypt with a defeat against Gabon on Sunday.

The Golden Arrows started the game on the momentum of their two previous wins but met a determined Gabonese side who did everything right from the first half which ended 16-12.

In the second half, avoidable turnovers and mistakes were the bane of the Coach Rafiu Salami led side and they scored just 6 goals which didn't match up to those of their opponent resulting in them losing the match 27-18.

The Golden Arrows thus finish 10th. They lost their group matches in the group stage to record title winners Tunisia and Cape Verde.

They then won their classification matches against Zambia and Senegal before losing their last match against Gabon.
