Nigeria Face Benin Republic Or Ghana In WAFU B Semifinal

Nigeria's U17 Women's national team, Flamingos will face either Ghana or Benin Republic in the semi-final of the 2024 Women's U17 WAFU B championship in Ghana, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Flamingos qualified for the semi-final having humiliated Niger Republic 9-0 before Cote D'Ivoire also thrashed same West African country 5-0 on Sunday. With three teams in Group B, Nigeria and Cote D'Ivoire hence qualified for the semi-final. 

However, the last group game between Flamingos and Cote D'Ivoire on Monday, December 16th 2024 will determine the table toppers. With just two teams in Group A, despite losing two times to the hosts, Ghana, Benin Republic and Ghana qualified for the semis automatically, irrespective of the outcome of the results of the two games. Ghana beat Benin Republic twice (4-1 and 3-2 respectively) with Ghana toping Group A. Burkina Faso withdrawn from Group A, leaving only Ghana and Burkina Faso.
