Nigeria International Sustains Injury, Set For Operation Next Week

Nigerian midfielder Azubuike Okechukwu has sustained an injury and is set to go under doctor's knives next week, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The medical department of his Turkish club Rizespor on Tuesday confirmed that the former Nigeria U23 player sustained an anterior cruciate ligament injury during their friendly game against Ãœmraniyespor.

The club doctor Prof. Dr. Hasan Turut made it clear that Azubuike sustained the wood on his right knee and further said that the club president has been informed about the development.

The skilful midfielder joined the Rizespor last summer following the expiration of his deal with Istanbul Basekhir.
