By Niyi Busari
The Nigeria Nationwide League One has issued a stern warning against unauthorized video recording during league matches, describing the practice as a violation of its regulations and a potential criminal offence.
In a statement dated April 26, 2026, the league’s secretariat expressed concern over reported incidents of illegal filming at match venues, stressing that such actions undermine the integrity of the competition and infringe on the rights of licensed broadcasters and participants.
The league reiterated that recording matches without prior approval contravenes its policies and could attract sanctions, including legal action and immediate ejection from match venues.
Officials emphasized that stricter enforcement measures would be implemented to curb the trend and protect the commercial and sporting interests tied to the competition.
The NLO also appealed to fans and spectators to comply with existing regulations and contribute positively to the matchday environment, urging them to support teams within the boundaries of the law.
