Nigeria Olympian Association Mourns Late Benedict Majekodunmi

The entire Olympians Family and indeed the sporting world was thrown into mourning over the very sad news about the passing of one of its own, Benedict Majekodunmi a k a Baba Majek.

Secretary-General of NOA that Majekodunmi, a worthy Olympian, Role Model Athlete and Trailblazer, 'Baba Majek' as he is fondly called gave his all to the country he loved so much that he made sure the name Nigeria resoundingly resonated whenever he represented her. 

As a sprint sensation, he dominated the Nigerian tracks in the 70s and won gold at the maiden National Sports Festival in Lagos, in 1973. 

Apart from being a legend of two Olympics (1968, 1972) and an accomplished athlete, the late Baba Majek as a coach produced many Legendary athletes the likes of Lawrence Adegbehingbe, Samson Oyeledun, Ojuola Olaniran and many others.

The entire Olympians family headed by its President Olumide Oyedeji deeply condoles with the immediate family of our hero and sporting legend Benedict Majekodunmi. We pray the Almighty God console you and keep you under HIS protection and blessings. 

As a family, the Nigeria Olympians Association will not renege on its responsibilities, we shall be there with and for you. You are not alone.

Benedict Majekodunmi, the entire Olympians Family, the sporting world and your immediate family shall miss you but our loss is Heaven’s Gain.
