Nigeria Olympians Association Commends NSC Over Olumide Oyedeji's Appointment
The Nigeria Olympians Association (NOA) has commended the National Sports Commission (NSC) for appointing Olumide Oyedeji to the Elite Athletes and Podium Board. Oyedeji, a former NBA player and captain of Nigeria’s national basketball team, currently serves as the President of the NOA and Vice President of the Nigeria Olympic Committee.
The NSC, under the leadership of Chairman Mallam Shehu Dikko, has emphasized its commitment to prioritizing the welfare of retired athletes and Olympians who have represented Nigeria. In a recent meeting with the NOA, Dikko assured that the commission would ensure that the efforts of past sports heroes are recognized and rewarded.
Oyedeji’s appointment to the Elite Athletes and Podium Board is seen as a positive step towards strengthening the support system for Nigerian athletes, both active and retired. His extensive experience and leadership within the sports community are expected to contribute significantly to the board’s initiatives aimed at enhancing athlete development and welfare.
