Nigeria's Super Eagles defender, Kevin Akpoguma was in action as Hoffenheim defeated Union Berlin 2-0 in Saturday’s German Bundesliga game, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Nigerian international, who was making a return to the team after been out of the team due to injury, came on as a substitute for Pavel Kaderabek in the 90th minute.
However, Andrej Kramaric netted the opening goal in the 22nd minute as he calmly converted his penalty to silence the home supporters.
The visitor extended their lead in the 38th minute through Maximilian Beier with a brilliant finish.
All efforts from Union Berlin to turn the scoreline around proved abortive as Hoffenheim defended solidly at the back.
The win move Hoffenheim to fourth on the league table on 12 points while Union Berlin sit 9th on 6 points.
