Nigeria have qualified for the 2026 African Nations Championship after extending their unbeaten run at the Zone 3 qualifiers in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Nigerian team booked their place at the continental championship, which will be held in the Democratic Republic of Congo in September, with a 3-1 comeback victory over Benin Republic on Friday, July 17.

Nigeria recovered from losing the opening set 21-25 to win the next three sets 25-21, 25-15, and 25-20, securing another impressive victory in the tournament.

The result ensured Nigeria finished the qualifiers unbeaten, highlighting the team's consistency and determination throughout the competition.

Having secured qualification, Nigeria will now shift focus to preparations for the African Nations Championship in the Democratic Republic of Congo, where they will be aiming to make a strong impact and challenge for the continental title in September.
