The Nigeria Rugby Football Federation (NRFF) has suspended seven players from Edo and Delta rugby clubs following disciplinary violations during league matches at Adolor College in Benin City, part of the 2023/24 season, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

After a detailed investigation, the Federation’s Disciplinary Committee determined that the players were involved in a fight during the matches, leading to their suspension. The incident, referenced under NRFF/NSC/FEAD/CON/VOL.1/085, prompted the NRFF to take strong action to preserve the integrity and sportsmanship of the league.

The suspended players are:

Christian Eleberi (Edo RFC)

Shunamite Okorie (Edo RFC)

Abovwo Imoisi (Edo RFC)

Chioma Nwankpa (Edo RFC)

Mene Augustar (Edo RFC)

Each player will serve a two-match suspension, starting with the Super Six playoffs and continuing into the 2024/25 regular season. The NRFF reiterated its commitment to maintaining discipline and ensuring a fair playing field for all teams and players.
