Nigeria’s women’s tennis team is set to compete at the Billie Jean King Cup Africa Group III qualifiers scheduled to take place in Botswana from July 13 to 17, 2026, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The competition will see several African nations battle for promotion in the regional tier of the prestigious global tournament. At stake is a place in Group II, with only the top-performing nation earning elevation to the next level of the competition.

Conversely, the stakes are equally high at the bottom end, as the lowest-ranked team at the end of the event will be relegated to Group IV, increasing the pressure on all participating sides to deliver strong performances.

Nigeria will be aiming to secure promotion and further establish its presence in international women’s tennis, as the team continues its push for growth and competitiveness on the continental stage.
