Nigeria Set New African Record, As Women's Relay Team Came 4th in Oregon

Team Nigeria in Athletics narrowly missed the podium in the 4×100 meters women's relay as they finished in the 4th position, BSNsports.com.ng understands.

After reaching the final, the quartet of Joy Udo-Gabriel, Favour Ofili, Rosemary Chukwuma and Grace Nwokocha gave a good fight in the race that involved the best countries in that category.

Table topper, the United States won the race with a time of 41.14s and Jamaica clinched the second position with 41.18s while Germany placed in the 3rd position with 42.03s.

Team Nigeria finished 4th with a time of 42.22s and apart from that they were able to erase Africa's 30 years record and set another one.

The previous African record is 42.39 and was set in 1992.
