Nigeria Set To Host Africa’s Best – NFF

The Nigeria Fencing Federation (NFF) has reaffirmed its readiness to host the 23rd African Fencing Championships, scheduled for June 25–29, 2025, in Lagos, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Speaking during a press conference at the Lagos Fencing Club, the Federation’s President, Adeyinka Samuel, expressed pride and enthusiasm about the upcoming continental event.

“This is more than just a tournament—it marks a significant milestone for Nigeria,” Samuel stated.

“We are proud to be among the few Sub-Saharan nations to host this prestigious championship. Nigeria is rapidly positioning itself as a fencing powerhouse in Africa, and this event highlights our steady growth and commitment to the sport.”

He also revealed that 26 African countries have confirmed their participation, with over 200 athletes expected to compete.

 “We are committed to delivering a world-class experience,” Samuel assured.

The championship will be held at Charterhouse Lagos, the same venue that successfully hosted Nigeria’s first-ever Fencing World Cup last year.
