Nigeria Shines in Ghana: Badmus and 15-Year-Old Treasure Strike Gold

Nigeria enjoyed a golden outing at the CAA Region II Senior Athletics Championships in Ghana, with Gafari Badmus and teenage sensation Omosivwe Treasure claiming titles in their respective events, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Reigning Nigerian 400m champion, Gafari Badmus, produced a career-best performance to storm to victory in the men’s 400m final. The quartermiler clocked an impressive 45.53 seconds, his new Personal Best, to secure the gold medal.
It was a dominant display for Team Nigeria in the event, with Ezekiel Asuquo finishing strongly for silver in 46.38s, while Ghana’s Mordecai Acheampong settled for bronze in 46.63s.
In the women’s high jump, 15-year-old Omosivwe Treasure continued her rapid rise on the continental stage. Fresh from winning the Nigerian national title, she soared to 1.75m, equalling her Personal Best to clinch the gold medal.
Treasure, who is sponsored by former Nigerian international athlete Mabel Madojiemu, underlined her potential as one of Africa’s brightest young talents in field events.
