Nigeria Storm Egypt Ahead 26th Africa Men Handball Cup of Nations

The Nigeria Men Handball National Team arrived Egypt on Monday night ahead of the 26th Africa Men Handball Nations Cup which will commence on Wednesday, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The team had been undergoing an intensive training camping in Abuja for over a month under the watchful eyes of Coach Rafiu Salami alongside his Assistant Coach Solomon Yola and rounded up the camping on Sunday before traveling to Cairo on Monday afternoon through the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

Coach Rafiu had also picked 16 players out of the 27 invited for camping and they will play ten times champion Tunisia, Angola and Kenya in group D of the nations cup.

An executive member of the Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN) representing the North-East zone Alhaji Husseini Mohammed Abdukadir, who saw off the team to the airport, charged the Golden Arrows to make Nigeria proud and be of good conduct as they fight to make a great impart at the nations cup.

The Nigeria team delegation led by Secretary General of the Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN) Mr. Almu Umar Lambu, then landed at the Cairo International Airport at past 9pm local time and will train on Tuesday.

The Golden Arrows will begin their Africa Handball Nations Cup campaign as they face Angola in their first match at 3 pm Nigeria time (4pm local time) on Wednesday January 17th, 2024 before playing against Tunisia two days later (Friday) at 7pm Nigeria time and then playing against Kenya on Sunday at 1pm Nigeria time.
