Nigeria is set to host the 3rd Confederation of African Cycling (CAC) Para-Track African Championships and the 12th CAC Track African Championships in Abuja from May 9 to 17, 2026, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The championships will take place at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium Velodrome and will feature some of Africa’s top cyclists and para-athletes competing for continental honours.

Countries including South Africa, Kenya, Algeria, Zimbabwe, Ghana and Benin have already confirmed participation alongside host nation Nigeria.

The Cycling Federation of Nigeria (CFN) praised the National Sports Commission (NSC) for approving the federation’s proposed budget for the championships, while assuring that all necessary arrangements have been put in place to ensure a successful tournament.

Meanwhile, Team Nigeria cyclists are currently in camp following the conclusion of the national trials held in Abuja as preparations intensify ahead of the continental championships.
