The Nigeria U-15 national team returned to Abuja on Friday night following their participation in the WAFU B U-15 Championship held in Burkina Faso, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The delegation, comprising 19 players and six officials, arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at 10:35 p.m.

Nigeria played two group-stage matches, securing one victory and suffering one defeat. Their 4–1 loss to Côte d’Ivoire ultimately proved costly, leaving them with a -2 goal deficit that prevented qualification for the semifinals. In a twist of fate, the only team Nigeria defeated Benin Republic went on to claim the championship title. Côte d’Ivoire topped Group B with three points, the same tally as Benin Republic and Nigeria, but advanced due to superior goal difference.

The four-day regional competition featured both male and female categories, although Nigeria participated solely in the boys’ event. The U-15 squad was led by head coach Seun Oyeniyi.
