Nigeria Weightlifting Federation To Organize Training Course For 22 Athletes, Coaches

In its efforts to foster continuity and improve on the standard of the sport, the Nigeria Weightlifting Federation (NWF) will next week organize a seven-day coaches training programme for 22 athletes and 8 coaches, BSNSports.com.ng reports. 

The training programme which will commence on Monday June 23rd, will end on Saturday, June 29, 2025, whereas arrival date is Sunday, June 22nd, the departure date is Monday, June 30.

According to a press statement signed by the NWF Media Officer, Amaechi Agbo, 22 athletes comprising 10 male and 12 female as well as 8 coaches have been invited by the federation to participate in the training course which will hold at the Weightlifting Gym, Gymnasium Hall, Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja. 

A renowned weightlifting coaching expert from Australia will be on ground to conduct the specialized coaching programme/training for the selected coaches and athletes in the federation.

The programme is designed to enhance the athletes and coaches preparation for the upcoming Commonwealth Games and the next Olympic Games.
